Perdita,

Therapy Bunny

Hello!

I LOVE

Hide & Seek!

At Spotting the ReSolve, healing sometimes comes with floppy ears, soft fur, and a gentle little nose twitch. Meet Perdita, our Holland Lop therapy bunny with beautiful Dalmatian-like markings and a calm, comforting presence that children instantly adore.

Perdita may be small, but she brings enormous emotional support into the therapy space. With her spotted coat and curious personality, she helps create moments of safety, connection, and delight for children who may feel anxious, overwhelmed, shy, or unsure as they begin therapy. She is part of our Animal-Assisted Play Therapy Team and is involved in the training to complete the AAPT program. She is supervised by Teri Holoman.

Many children find it easier to regulate, engage, and open up when Perdita is nearby.

As a rabbit, Perdita naturally encourages slow movements, gentle touch, mindfulness, and emotional attunement. Children often practice nurturing, patience, body awareness, and co-regulation while interacting with her. Whether she is quietly resting beside a child during a difficult moment, hopping nearby during play therapy, or accepting tiny pets and giggles, Perdita helps remind children that therapy can feel warm, safe, and even joyful.

Perdita especially loves:

  • Calm cuddles and gentle pets

  • Listening to children read or talk

  • Joining play therapy adventures

  • Helping children practice “soft and safe” bodies

  • Being part of emotional regulation and grounding moments

  • Making nervous first sessions feel a little less scary

Like the rest of the spotted crew at Spotting the ReSolve, Perdita is part of creating a therapy environment rooted in connection, safety, curiosity, and healing through relationship.

Sometimes the smallest members of the therapy team help children feel the greatest sense of comfort!
